Personal

Skyler was born and raised on the East Side of Saint Paul, attending public school in the St. Paul Public Schools system. Skyler started working at the ripe age of 15 to help provide for himself and to pay for college at the University of Minnesota.

He graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Finance and Management Information Systems. Since then, Skyler has worked in finance, and is currently employed trading bonds backed by mortgages for an Investment Manager, Sit Investment Associates.

Skyler owns and lives in a duplex in the CARAG neighborhood of Minneapolis.

Civic and Political Involvement

• Employed by the Republican Party of Minnesota's Telecommunications Division since May 1996
• Worked on Rod Grams 2000 Senate campaign
• Elected to the board of the Windom Neighborhood Association in Southwest Minneapolis in May, 2005
• Elected as Communications Chair of the Windom Neighborhood Association in November, 2005
• Appointed in February 2006 by Councilmember Remington to serve on the City of Minneapolis' Capital Long Range Improvement Committee (CLIC)
• Have served on CARAGs finance committee since May, 2006
• Appointed as Secretary of the Minnesota Young Republicans in May, 2005
• Elected as Chair of the Minnesota Young Republicans in May, 2006
